Creamed Peas Recipe (Stovetop & Instant Pot) (1)

One of the all time most popular recipes on my website is my Instant Pot Creamed Corn recipe, with over fourty thousand people making it each year. And while I do love creamed corn, I also REALLY love peas.

So I decided it was time to experiment… What if I made a Creamed Peas Recipe instead of Creamed Corn? After one test run, I was hooked.

This Creamed Peas Recipe is comforting, creamy, and all-around delicious.

Why Make this Recipe

  1. Ready in Under 10 Minutes: On both the stovetop and in the Instant Pot your creamed peas will be ready in under 10 minutes!
  2. Simple: I love a good, easy recipe. In the Instant Pot, simply add the ingredients and turn on the timer. If making the recipe on the stovetop, add the ingredients and stir occasionally. That’s all!
  3. Great for Holidays: This is a fantastic Thanksgiving recipe or Christmas recipe, but it would also be great any night.

  1. Peas: I use frozen peas because I like the texture better. You can also use canned peas, but keep in mind that they will have a slightly mushier texture than the frozen peas.
  2. Cream Cheese: I use full-fat cream cheese. You can use low-fat cream cheese if preferred.
  3. Heavy Cream: I use heavy whipping cream.

We’ve been making creamed peas (sometimes with pearl onions) for as long as I can remember. It was just a simple white sauce. I may try these, they look nice.
