You can recreate a taste of the Masters at home with these Authentic Masters Recipes. The food at the Augusta National Golf Club’s concession stands during Masters week is almost as iconic as the golf being played! The food is not only popular with golf fans at the tournament; many professional golfers enjoy a few pimento cheese sandwiches.

Every year the town of Augusta comes alive the first full week of April as the city hosts the Masters Golf Tournament, one of the most popular PGA tour tournaments. When golf patrons walk onto the course for the first time, they are transported to an oasis of peaceful beauty that tournament TV coverage can not capture.

I can’t get you tickets to the Masters, but I can help you make authentic concession stand copycat recipes to enjoy eating while having a Masters Watch Party.

Why These Recipes Are Authentic

Many copycat recipes on the internet add all kinds of ingredients that Augusta National Golf Club does not have in their recipes. The Masters pimento cheese does not have sour cream, nor does the egg salad have celery or chopped dill pickles in it. The concession stands, sandwiches, and snacks are all made with simple, high-quality ingredients.

How do I know? I live in Augusta, Georgia, and have attended the Masters since high school. I now have 15 grandkids, so that might give you a perspective on how long I have been going.

Each year I bring home a bag of concession stand items to give to family members that did not go and enjoy as a late-night snack watching the highlights on TV. I save the bags for reference, checking to see if they have changed their recipe. However, if Augusta National has something extraordinary, they leave it alone. It’s all about tradition.

Augusta Nationalfocuses on perfection, not big and showy but simple perfection in every tiny detail, just like their concessions.

  • 8 bags of potato chips

You get all this for a price tag of $150, with delivery by Friday of the Masters right to your door. This box was just a sampling of what a patron can eat at the Masters Tournament. However, when you are on the course, there are many other great choices for sandwiches, snacks, and desserts.

Masters Concession Stand History

As a kid going to the Masters, I remember the white portable tents that were put up periodically throughout the course for snacks. Patrons would file in a double line from one end, working their way through various sandwiches, snacks and drinks. When they got to the other end of the tent they would pay for all the times they had chosen.

The National has since up its game and now has permanent buildings for its concessions. They even have staff to help patrons with the condiments once they leave the building.

Augusta National explains on their site. “There are seven full-service, open-air concession stands strategically placed around the property, all stocked with the simple assortment of sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and sweets, while friendly concessions staffers ensure a quick pace and shelving that is never empty.”
