WHY MAKE HOMEMADE KETCHUP?

Let's face it. Ketchup is fairly inexpensive to buy. You can get huge bottles of it at the store on sale. Why make homemade ketchup?

If you are trying to avoid processed foods then you might want to make your own condiments at home. Store-bought ketchup does have sugar in it and some people need to limit their intake of sugar and high fructose corn syrup.

WHAT KIND OF SWEETENER DOES SUGAR FREE KETCHUP CONTAIN?

Ketchup needs to have a sweet component or it won't taste quite right. This sugar free ketchup recipe uses a sugar substitute that really works.

It tastes very similar to the “real” thing and won't add all the calories or sugar to the ketchup.

This is perfect for diabetics and others who need to limit their sugar-intake for health reasons. People who are watching their carb intake can use this as a low carb ketchup.

INGREDIENTS FOR HOMEMADE SUGAR FREE KETCHUP

This homemade ketchup recipe requires basic ingredients you probably always have on hand. It is so quick and easy!

  • Tomato Paste
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Water
  • Soy Sauce
  • Swerve (or any low carb sweetener of choice)
  • Onion Powder

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE KETCHUP WITH NO SUGAR

If you have 10 minutes then you have plenty of time to whip up a batch of this no sugar ketchup. Grab those cute glass jars!!

STEP ONE: COMBINE INGREDIENTS

In a saucepan combine ALL the ingredients. I love one pan recipes!

Whisk the ingredients together until they are well combined and the tomato paste dissolves and the mixture is lump-free.

STEP TWO: SIMMER

Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Allow the sauce to simmer for 5 minutes on medium heat for the spices to cook.

STEP THREE: PUT IN JAR

Once the ketchup is done simmering, allow it to cool completely.

Place the sugar free ketchup into clean glass jars. This makes about 3 cups. You can put it all in one big jar or use a few smaller jars.

Keep the ketchup refrigerated.

ADD SOME HEAT

If you like a spicy condiment for your fries and burgers no worries.

Add about 1/2 teaspoon (or more) of cayenne pepper to the mixture and you will add the perfect amount of heat to this homemade condiment.
